Milestones

February 11, 2011 - James Swanson - Bloody Crimes. He is the first author who made it to the New York Times best seller list. His book is the story of how the Union Army went out to find Confederate President Jefferson Davis. His interview was the first to have received over 200 emails.

February 20, 2011 - Memory Lanes Antique Mall, Carson,CA. - This was the first time KCTY 107.7 went to do a live broadcast. It took place at the mall in Carson, CA. The mall provided plenty of publicity along with what Rodney had done also. The house band 'Genarosa' played live Rock and Roll music while the Host interviewed three authors. These special guests were - Darlene Quinn, author of the award winning book "Twisted Webb", Kathy Porter, author of the award winning "Earths Ultimate Conflict", and Dorthy Ebsen, wife of actor Buddy Ebsen. They all donated to autographed books to be given away for the raffle. This show took over five months to put together and used special recording equipment (Tascam 2884 neo). While at the same time it was thought that this off campus show would never be produced. This show has been requested several times to be replayed over and over. Producer/Host: Rodney Bardin, Co-Host: Doug Wood, Stage manager: Amanda Slater, Engineer: Judy Baker.

Lesley Zemeckis - Producer/Director - Behind The Burly Q - After premiering on Showtime, this show had been promoted for several weeks before the interview. The show was going well and then about fifteen minutes into the it, it was announced that Lesley Zemeckis was coming on after the break. The show got so many hits and phone calls that it almost brought the entire website and phone system down. Listeners were being knocked off while others were trying to get on. After which, the show went to U Stream to make sure the show could continue. U Stream is used on all shows since to avoid this problem in the future. Burley Q DVD was launched on this show and over 300 emails to date have come of it.
